#1 I hate waiting
As a Product Owner, Agile appealed to me as ideas quickly become a reality. I love that I get many more sneak peeks and no longer have to wait in prolonged anxiety to see if my idea will work.
#2 I hate making my customers sad
I love that with Agile if our customers have a brilliant idea, we don't have to say, "No."
#3 I love talking to Developers on a daily basis
Developers are my people. I enjoy the closeness between business and developers that Agile promotes. I know that working closely with developers has taught me more than reading books could have ever. I particularly love working deskside together and instantly reviewing options.
#4 I need feedback to grow
I work hard to do my very best, and it typically shows. I get a lot of positive feedback (which I love), yet critical feedback helps me grow. I love that retrospectives provide an opportunity for critical review. I want to be better than great.
#5 I prefer giving demos rather than making reports
Agile emphasizes software as the primary measure of success. This means that when my leadership team (or a customer) has a question about the progress, I can show working software and not send along progress reports.
#6 Testing software gives me the best ideas
I've noticed so many things that would have never come to mind otherwise when working with live software. I love that it's never too late for a great idea with Agile.
#7 I love the freedom to experiment
I love that my team can experiment on our process each sprint in hopes of improving. If the idea fails, we adjust the next retrospective and move on. It minimizes the risk of failure and fosters innovation. I'd pick 'failing fast' over endless debate any day.
#8 I hate debating requirements
I love that User Stories help the team align to a user's need so that we can collaborate as a team to build the right solution. This dramatically reduces finger-pointing.
#9 Work-life balance is promoted
Agile encourages a sustainable pace by the development team. What could be better than that?
#10 Face to Face collaboration is emphasized
Sure, nowadays, that means camera to camera collaboration, but I'd chose that any day over having to write (and read) long paragraphs of text!
